Minutes discussed and accepted
3 Chairmans` Report
3.1 Another year has passed and we are still waiting for Enforcement
Orders to be completed on 2 properties( the
Cove and Station Yard). Life would
be easier for the CC if enforcement was carried out sooner. Also outstanding
are the repairs to the Berwickshire
Housing Hedge and the fence at Callender Place.
3.2. The Village Toilets are due for an upgrade soon.
3.3. It came as a big surprise that the village had won the Keep
Berwickshire Tidy Award for this year.
3.4. There was only one application for the Crystal Rig Windfarm
money which was for £1975 to re-paint part of the
Village Hall. This
leaves £7027 plus inflation still in the fund.
3.5. Still no word on the extension to Toll View of the 30mph
limit on the Old A1.
3.6. We were sorry to lose Mr Hugh McAleese as the schools` Headmaster
and were pleased that the school had
received a very good report
form the Inspectors before his retiral.
3.7. Yet again the Christmas Tree was a great success thanks
to the boys.
3.8. Two new Windfarm presentations were given;
1 – Wind Direct -
Erection of 2 turbines on land at the Neuk farm for the use of the Quarry
owner
2 – Community Windpower
Limited - Proposals for 30 additional Turbines for Phase II of
Aikengall
3.9. We have had great support since Mr David Melrose took over
the Parks Dept. for the grass and hedge cutting and
maintenance of the
Church yard etc.
3.10. There have been several Planning Applications this
year including the Kinegar Quarry Extension, a house at
New Cove and for the re-siting of the Garage.
3.11. Councillor Raw is still hoping to have a hut installed
for the use of the youths of the village.
3.12. As this is the last AGM before the Election I would like
to say that I have had great support from all the CC
members, a special
thanks to the co-opted members Kate and David, the SBC Councillors, Angela
who looks
after the money
and Tom the secretary who does most of the work.
4. Treasurers` Report
. The Current A/C balance is £1262 and Liaison
a/c £451 .
5. CLOSING THE AGM.
There being no further business, the Chairman closed the meeting.
NEXT ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING: WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 2010 in the school at 7pm.
