MINUTES FOR MEETING OF 8th February 2006

VENUE: Cockburnspath Primary School.

PRESENT: John Hay, Clifford Bertram , Angela Brading , Fiona Deeming (Minutes Secretary), Peter Hood, Jean Virtue.

1.1.Apologies: David Munro, Matt Deeming, Tom Dean.

2. ADOPTION OF MINUTES OF 11th January 2006
2.1. Minutes discussed and accepted.

3. Re; PRESENTATION OF OPTIONS FOR DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE LOCAL PLAN.

3.1. John has received a letter of thanks Robin Holder of Turley associates, on behalf of Caledonian Scottish Developments
for allowing them to come and talk to the community council.
3.2.As a result of the public meeting, John has completed the objections form, as per the outcome of the meeting.
3.3.A letter has been received from the SBC acknowledging objections

4. Getting Fit For The Future- Modernising Health services in the Borders.
4.1. Kate Tulloch read the consultation document, there are 4 main objectives; More care in the community, greater
`local heath clinic' based treatment, separate A&E dept' and emergency response time improvement.
Kate also filled in and returned the questionnaire, on behalf of the Community Council.

5. Co-option onto Council.
Kate Tulloch was co-opted onto the council, Proposed by Peter Hood, seconded by Marnie McGregor.

6. Local Transport report:
John Elliot was asked about the current position of the report. The report is still in phase one, dualing
of the A1 has been discounted as not giving sound benefits

7. LETTERS.
7.1. Borders Scottish Transport forum.
7.2. Sports Eyemouth.

8. Planning application.
8.1. Mr Ray Schoolhouse; replace windows and install downstairs bathroom. No objections.
8.2. Not Toll View; notification of application to build conservatory.

9. Road Closures.
9.1. The Neuk to Ecclaw 20th Feb' to 24tth Feb.
9.2. The Neuk to Monnynut, from 24th Feb' for 8 days.

10. Wind Farm Community Fund; Cheque for £1300 received for village hall.

11. Our Scottish Borders;
Tom Dean attended, the 2 things Torn identified as of interest were, diversifying the business base to expand new businesses
and Connections i.e. local transport.

12. New Houses on the rail yard; have they been approved

13. Dog Dirt; still a problem.

14. Speed Signs; Angela asked John Elliot when we would be likely to see them in Cockburnspath as she had seen them
elsewhere in the borders
.
15. Dirt on road; it was brought up that there is a problem with dirt on the old A1 from lorries exiting the quarry.

16. Retaining Wall : the retaining wall on the Pease Bay , near the humpbacked bridge is collapsing, Peter has already reported
this to the roads department, but as yet no progress, and with holiday season under way it could become quite serious.
