1. PRESENT:

North SBC), PC Christian Flucker (Lothian and Borders Police Force),
members of the community, Shelagh Martin and Mary Deas (Scottish Health
Council, Borders).

2. ADOPTION OF MINUTES OF 8th November 2006
2.1. Minutes discussed and accepted.
3. POLICE MATTERS.
3.1. PC Flucker reported that the last month had been relatively
quiet, except for some vandalism, spray paint graffiti and damage to tiles
on the toilet roof, to one
call about noisy music. There
were also a number of minor road accidents. It is advised by L&B
Police that during the bad weather slow down, allow more
time for journeys and increase
your distance from the vehicle in front.
3.2. Under the “Banner” of Safer Scotland, there have been more
hi visible foot patrols in the village with more, hopefully over the Christmas
and New year.
3.3. The Latest Scam appears to be overseas letters regarding
lotteries, If anyone receives such letters please pass them on to the police,
copies of letters are
already with the Serious Fraud
Squad in Musselburgh.
4. PRESENTATION BY SHELAGH MARTIN:
4.1. Shelagh gave an overview of the work of the Scottish Health
Council, its organisation and remit. Also its roles, around the involvement
of the public, patients
and carers in the way the NHS
operates, within the community as a whole.
5. MATTERS ARISING.
5.1. Potholes: 6 Weeks ago John contacted SB Local re; potholes
on the Hoprig Road, still nothing done and the holes are getting worse.
Also SBC has been
contacted ref other road/parking
problems in the village. List passed to John Elliot.
5.2. Street Lights: A street light is needed between Croftsacre
and Hoprig Park. Request passed to John Elliot.
6. LETTERS
6.1. Letter from Hugh McAleese, thanking the community council
for its donation to Cockburnspath Primary School in its fundraising for
Children In Need and the
School’s appearance on TV.
6.2. E-mail from BCCF: Brigit Darling sent a e-mail suggesting
a meeting of Community Councils to discuss the consultation document on
Windfarm Community
funds. Representation will be
attending.
6.3. E-mail re; Community Council revue received. Boundary queries
being dealt with.
6.4. Renewable energy in the Scottish Borders, a draft supplementary
planning guide: received. Comments due, 16th Feb 07.
6.5. SESTRANS: E-mail received re; on line Consultation document,
reply by 28th Jan 07.
7. PLANNING MATTERS.
7.1. Hoprig Cottages: Application for 2 dwelling houses; These
have already been objected to previously and refused, the community council
still object to this
application for the same reasons;
road safety, as in access to the site / houses and overdevelopment of that
area as a whole.
7.2. Old Cambus: app’ for 1 dwelling house. No Objections.
8. ANY OTHER BUSINESS.
8.1. Village Christmas Tree: Thanks to David Brading, Callum
Brown and Alan Patterson for erecting the tree this year, and thanks to
Ronnie Dale for supplying the
tree.
8.2. Windfarm Community Fund, Consultations: Closing date for
this consultation is 9th Feb 07, so no decisions required just yet.
8.3. Community Owned Windfarm seminar: rescheduled for 30th
Jan 07, due to bereavement.
8.4. PC Justin Halford, the Youth Integration Officer, at Duns
will be attending the January ‘07 meeting.
