Cockburnspath Community Council.

Minutes for meeting of 11th February.

Present: Mr. John Hay (Chairman), Mr Clifford Bertram (Vice Chairman). Mr David Munro (Secretary), Mrs Fiona Deeming (Minutes Secretary) Mrs Marnie McGregor, Mrs Jean Virtue, Mr. Matt Deeming. Councillor John Elliot (Duns and District North SBC ), PC Greenshields (Lothian and Borders Police), Lisa Hodge: (EEBP) Kathleen Henderson and Sue MacGregor (Members of the community)

Apologies: Mrs Jane Hood, Mr Paul Wheelhouse.

l.isa Hodge (EEBP):  discussed with the CC the supply, funding and design of new road furniture for the Village, to include road signs, pointers for various venues within the village and Village gateways. Also discussed was the provision of shelter/s in the new play area around the new Village hall, application could be made to the council. Lisa would keen the CC informed.
Community Police Report: PC Greenshields reported on the crime figures for the last month, which included the theft of a caravan from Chesterfield Caravan Park and the theft plant. He also informed the CC of the opening of the new Force Communications centre in Bilston in 5-6 weeks time. All calls will he routed to this new centre and responses will be graded, it is not intended that any reduction in the responses to calls will be a result of this re-organisation. The need for vigilance with respect to bogus workmen was again mentioned.

Adoption of previous-Minutes:
The Minutes of the previous meeting were agreed.

Matters arising from previous minutes.

1: Vodaphone Mast: David received a reply to his letter, about the proposed mast
oppsite the railway cottages. The Council are still not satisfied with Vodaphone's plans.

Any Other Business:
Traffic along the "Causeway": Kathleen Henderson and Sue Macgregor were there to represent families who live on the causeway and who are concerned about the amount of traffic using this road as a shortcut. As it is an unadopted road
To guage the feeling of the CC as to their wishing to restrict the size and speed of vehicle use along this road. It was suggestcd that they be put in contact with Darren Silcock (BRC) to see what could be done
