MINUTES FOR MEETING OF 12th MAY 2004

VENUE: Cockburnspath Primary School.

1. PRESENT:
1.1.  Johm Hay;(Chairman), Mr Clifford Bertram (Vice Chairman), Mrs Angela Brading (Treasurer); Mrs Jane Hood, Mrs Marnie McGregor, Mrs Jean Virtue,
Councillor John Elliot (Duns and District North SBC) Sue McGregor, (Member of the community)
1.2.APOLOGIES: -Javid Munro (Secretary), Mrs Fiona Deeming (Minutes Secretary), Mr Paul Wheeihouse, Mr Matt Deeming.

2.  ADOPTION OF MINUTES FOR 14th APRIL 2004.
2.1. Minutes discussed and adopted.

3. MATTERS ARISING:
3.1. Vodafone mast: David has replied that we prefer a site near the railway at Linhead Farm.
3.2. Lorry traffic through village: is still being monitored
3.3. Planning application Seaview: Colour now to blend in with Mr.Sanderson` s shop.
3.4. Keep Berwickshire Tidy; Cockburnspath came 2nd.
3.5. Pease bridge diversion: John Elliot and Darren Sillcock are attending to it.
3.6. Bankhead cemetery: Litter has been removed.
3.7. Gift for Miles Swanson: was purchased by the CC in connection with his hard work with the new hall.
3.8. Crystal Rig wind farm: Longformacus CC are objecting to the second phase, Maureen Ferguson will keep in touch.

4. ANY OTHER BUSINESS:
4.1. Energy awareness day: seminar 28th May.
4.2. New possible housing development: Between Croftsacre and the old A1.
4.3. Callander Place: Concern has been raised over the erection of a fence etween no's 19 and 21 on what is council ground.
4.4. Local Plan: Letter not yet received.
4.5. Notice. board for new hall: Sue McGregor will contact Lisa Hodge re; grants.
4.6. Causeway traffic: The residents of the Causeway are hoping to get it closed for vehicles and are prepared to pay for the signage themselves.
4.7. Cockburnspath garage: Sue McGregor expressed concerns over cars parking at the garage corner.
4.8. Breakdown Iorry: Sue McGregor voiced concerns that the vehicle is being parked some nights at Toll View (investigation found; this not to be the case)
4.9. Lollypop person: suggestions were made for a lollypop person; this should be put to the school board.
4.10. Play Park at village hall: Still awaiting, completion.
4.11.Pavement from old police station: This, as well as the War Memorial, is requiring  attention, there is also a broken concrete manhole.
