MINUTES FOR MEETING OF 12th JANUARY 2005

VENUE: Cockburnspath Primary School

1. PRESENT:
1.1. John Hay (Chairman), Clifford Bertram (Vice Chairman), David Munro (Secretary), Angela Brading (Treasurer), Jane Hood, Jean Virtue, Marnie McGregor, Matt Deeming, Fiona Deeming (Minutes Secretary). Councillor John Elliot (Duns and District North SBC). Pc Peoples (Lothian and Borders Police)

2. POLICE MATTERS:
Very little to report, Pc Peoples was asked what action could be taken over the continued problem of dog dirt. Any one can make a complaint to the police about this and action can be taken in the form of a warning if more than one person complains then prosecution can be considered. Maybe an open letter to the community stating such
.
3. ADOPTION OF MINUTES OF 8th DECEMBER 2004.
3.1. Minutes discussed and accepted.

4. MATTERS ARISING.
4.1. Village Christmas Tree: Blew down in the wind, our thanks once again to everyone concerned with the replacement.
4.2. Village Christmas Tree: Our thanks to Mr and Mrs Ray for the use of their green for the Christmas tree.
4.3. Toll View Footpath: No further information or feedback.
4.4. It has not been possible to identify the tanker that is thought to be the cause of the flooding of the village hall foyer and car park last month.

5. PLANNING APPLICATIONS.
5.1. New Garage: The Community Council has still not received the plans for the proposed new garage. After last months meeting we were told that they had been sent. More nagging required!
5.2. Village Square: House to north corner, extension to rear and new porch to front, no objections

6. LETTERS:
6.1. Pease Road: reply from council re, our letter requesting urgent repair.

7. ANY OTHER BUSINESS:
7.1. SBC Local Plan: John voiced the councils thanks to Paul for his hard work in the councils reply to the SBC draft Local Plan.
7.2. Strong Smell: Did not seem to be identified or return.
7.3. War Memorial: requires cleaning and re-pointing. It was suggested we contact Denise Playfair.
7.4. Salt Bin: at the bottom of Callander Place was not put out this year, Angela will phone and ask for it to be returned.

8. NEXT MEETING: WEDNESDAY 9th FEBRUARY 2005; in the school at 7pm.
