MINUTES FOR MEETING OF 11th MAY 2005.

VENUE: Cockburnspath Primary School.

1.PRESENT:
John Hay (Chairman), Clifford Bertram (Vice Chairman), Angela Brading (Treasurer), Jane Hood, Jean Virtue, Marnie McGregor,  Matt Deeming, Fiona Deeming (Minutes Secretary). Councillor John Elliot (Duns and District North SBC). PC: Stuart,(Lothian and Borders Police). David Munro (Secretary), Liz Deeming.

1.1.Apologies: Paul Wheelhouse

2. POLICE MATTERS:
2.1. Break-in at house on coast road near Copath between 11 am - 1 pm on the 11''' May. Seems to an organised gang. If anyone saw anything suspicious can
      they please get in touch with the police.
2.2. Car used for motorbikes stolen from village
2.3. Police request that if anyone sees anything out of the ordinary that they think is suspicious could they get a description and contact the police in Eyemouth
      018907 50217 or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 if you want to stay anonyms and they will come out to check it. As that is part of their job. Any emergencies
     still ring 999.
2.4. Air rifle incidents: Report of someone on the moor with shotgun/air rifle, police checked it out, no one found.
2.5. Pease bay game machine broken in to, the individuals responsible have be arrested.

3. ADOPTION OF MINUTES OF 13th April 2005
3.1. Minutes discussed and accepted.

4. MATTERS ARISING.
4. 1. Speeding in village: David wrote to traffic inspector, still no reply, but Pc Stuart did mention that there was a suggestion of a 20mph limit in front of school.
4.2. Strimmer: Will not be replaced as there are no longer any grants to purchase one. It was agreed that hiring was out of the question so in the mean time Matt Deeming to use own until something can be sorted.
4.3. Drone Hill: David received phone call from Darren Rooney trying to set up meeting to discuss wind farm extension, It was agreed that the next C.C meeting would be good time. David to ring back and organise.
4.4. Fence between19 to 21 Callander Place: Still being dealt with.
4,5. Hanging Baskets: Asked if we would like some. Nothing decided
4.6. Hay terrace: Meeting about hole in road. Has been passed on to
appropriate persons.
4.7. Recycling: David received letter from SBC. Recycling bags will be given to all households in the future.

5. LETTERS.
5.1. Letter from `2003' Water customer Panel about changes in policy
5.2. Received updated version of C.C handbook 5.3. S.B Elder voice newsletter received.
5.4. Borders community council forum newsletter
5.5.Application form for Calor small Community of the year
5.6. Minutes from British energy liaison group meeting

6. PLANNING MATTERS:
6.1. Roseburn development: Application for dwelling house and garage north west of Hoprig farm cottages. C.C objected to plans.

7. ANY OTHER BUSINESS:
7.1. New ward boundaries: Cllr John Elliot has notified C.C that SBC has discussed new ward boundaries and plans have been sent to boundaries commission to
     be authorised.
7.2. Croftsacre Hedge: Is a bit untidy and needs clipping.
7.3. NH Watch: Have wrote to SBC roads department about sleeping policemen.
7.4. Portocabin: Marnie suggested for one of these to be placed at far end of football pitch for young people to us. In the hope it discourages them frorn playing in the Square.
7.5. The C.C would like to send their condolences to the Fairbairn and Aitchison families on the recent bereavements.
