MINUTES FOR MEETING OF 8th June 2005.

VENUE: Cockburnspath Primary School.

1. PRESENT:
John Hay (Chairman), Clifford Bertram (Vice Chairman), Angela Brading (Treasurer), Jane Hood, Jean Virtue, Fiona Deeming (Minutes Secretary). Councillor John Elliot (Duns and District North SBC). Pc Glass and Pc Innes (Lothian and Borders Police), Liz Deeming, Mr Bevan (The Smiddy)

1.1.Apologies: Paul Wheelhouse, Matt Deeming, Marnie McGregor, David Munro (Secretary)

2. POLICE MATTERS:
2.1. House burglary: Nothing new to report
2.2. Football pavilion: Broken in to, no one has been caught
2.3. Person has been charged with assault at Drysdales.
2.4. Traffic police dealing with a wagon that parks on pavement north end of village.
2.5. A male resident at Pease bay caravan park has been arrested for assault.
2.6. Police warned C.C of bogus water board workmen going around the villages.
2.7. Some police officers have been seconded to G8 duties the first week in July. So things are going to be a little stretched.
 

3. ADOPTION OF MINUTES OF 11th may 2005
3.1. Minutes discussed and accepted.

4. MATTERS ARISING.
4.1. Speeding in village: Still no word
4.2. Fence between19 to 21 Callander Place: JH to contact the housing association again
4.3. Hanging Baskets: Village going to be provided with four hanging baskets plus money for someone to water them
4.4. Hay terrace: Hole has been reduced in size so as not to affect road
4.5. Recycling centre: Plans have been approved for the recycling centre outside Duns.
4.6. Grass Cutting: Complaints about grass cutting being very messy and bit not being done. JH to show Cllr JE and organise meeting.
4.7. Croftsarce hedge:beingdealt with
4.8. Portocabin: Been dealt with.

5. LETTERS.
5.1. B.C.C.F: Direct debit for next years membership, Angela sorting out.
5.2. BHA questionnaire
5.3. Festive grants: Need to apply for it now. Angela sorting out.

6. PLANNING MATTERS:
6.1.The Smiddy: Received planning application and visit from Mr Bevan about improvements to The Smiddy. C.C had no objections.

7. ANY OTHER BUSINESS:
7.1. Election sign outside Croftsacre not been removed. Cllr JE sorting out 7.2. Fiona put in quote for toner cartridge, given to Angela 7.3. Pease bay: Grass needs cutting at junction of Pease bay and coast
road. People finding it difficult to see what's coming. Also
fencing/barrier is broken and needs fixing
7.4. Scottish Borders Rural Partnership: Funding has been approved for
community development field workers
