COCKBURNSPATH COMMUNITY COUNCIL

MINUTES FOR MEETING OF 13th July 2005 .

VENUE: Cockburnspath Primary School.

1. PRESENT:
2. John Hay (Chairman), Clifford Bertram (Vice Chairman), David Munro (Secretary), Fiona Deeming (Minutes Secretary), Jane Hood. Jean Virtue, Paul Wheelhouse, Marnie McGregor, Matt Deeming, Pc Glass and Pc Scott (Lothian and Borders Police), plus 6 members of the community.

2.I. Apologies: Angela Brading (Treasurer), Councillor John Elliot (Duns and District North SBC)

2. POLICE MATTERS:
2.1.1 9th of June there has been a complaint about children on Quad bike at Hoprig Shiel.
2.2. Theft from shed on Hoprig road, no suspects as yet.
2.3. Croftsacre a complaint about youths causing damage, no damage or persons found.
2.4.There has been complains about the height of verge at Tower farm.
2.5.There has been a complaint about the cars parked at side of Garage.
2.6. Croftsacre complaint by resident about being disturbed by persons unknown at 4am on the morning of the 27th June.
2.7.4th July a complaint was received about Children jumping off Cove harbour wall into sea.

3. ADOPTION OF MINUTES OF 8th June 2005
3.1. Minutes discussed and accepted.

4. MATTERS ARISING.
4.1. Callander Place Fence: A discussion was held, it was mentioned that permission had been given for the fence. Site meeting arranged sometime within the next week.
4.2. Hanging Baskets: The C.C would like to thank Mr Purves, Mr & Mrs Copland and Mr & Mrs Ray from agreeing to have the baskets hung up on their properties
4.3. Grass Cutting: There has been a noticed improvement to the grass cutting by Council in this week.
4.4. Portakabin (Football Hut): There has been a request by the Hall committee for funding from the Crystal Rig community fund to turn hut into young peoples club. The C.C agreed to £1500, paperwork to be completed.

5. LETTERS.
5.1. EE.B.P: Questionnaire received and filled out.
5.2. Poster received about Home energy advice.
5.3.Torness newsletter received, nothing to report
5.4. White paper on planning matters received.
5.5. Received consultation paper about local plan.

6. PLANNING MATTERS:
6.1. The Birn: Received planning application for house at the Birn. Concerns where raised over size of house possibly encroaching and damaging archaeology, in addition to this plant equipment could also damage archaeology during construction process.

7. ANY OTHER BUSINESS:
7.1.Toll View Path: Matt Received letter about path between Toll view and public toilet from Ian Gaul. Matt emailed to clarify some points still waiting to hear back.
7.2. Crystal Rig: It has been brought to the C.C attention that the extra turbines have been approved
7.3. It was mentioned that the verge at the side of road between the school and Callander Place needs tidying
7.4. It has been noted by the C.C that planning permission for a house at Hoprig has been rejected by planning committee.
