2. ADOPTION OF MINUTES OF 9th NOVEMBER 2005
2.1. Minutes discussed and accepted
3. POLICE MATTERS:
3.1.Apologies for not being at last meeting.
3.2. Kinnegar Quarry: Report of theft of money, no one arrested.
3.3. Crofts Acre: car vandalised, no one caught.
3.4. Festive period initiatives: There will be road side checks, licensed
business checks, and Pc's out on foot patrol, during the run up and
during the Christmas period.
3.5. Vandalism and threatening behaviour: It was brought to the council
and police attention, that a resident of the village has had car and garden
vandalised and has been subjected to threatening behaviour. Police will
be investigating this matter.
3.6. Speeding: It was brought to attention that there was still cars
speeding through the village. PC Richardson going to get in touch with
appropriate persons to see what can be done.
3.7. The Community council and the police would like to encourage individuals
that have been a victim or have witnessed any criminal activity to report
it to the police immediately.
4. MATTERS ARISING:
4.1. Callander Place Fence: Still there, but going to be moved by contractor
in near future.
4.2. Drain Cover Callander Place: has been replaced, Highfield hedge
been cut.
4.3. Pease Bay road: Closed for repairs.
4.4. Viliage signs: John Hay spoken to Lisa Hodge about New signs in
village, shortage of funding
4.5. Crofts acre steps: Bad sate of repair. Also Holes ire road at
Crofts acre. and church hall road John Hay to get in touch with
Mr Mathewson about this.
4.6. The Square: Been very quiet this month
4.7. Christmas tree: Thanks to all that helped with this. Angela to
sort Out taking down of tree after Christmas has finished.
4.8. Borders Care and repair: Ken Underwood gave a talk. This service
for over 60's. Rolling out throughout borders April 2006.
5. PLANNING MATTERS:
5.1. Blackburn Mill: Application received for area of land opposite.
No objections.
5.2. Railway station: Application for two dwellings. All members objected
for same reasons as before.
6. LETTERS
6.1. Paper from SBC: How community councils can fill their roll, being
passed around.
6.2. Neighbourhood watch: Focus meeting in Duns. Tom Dean Going.
6.3. BCC Forum: received minutes, next meeting 22nd of march. 6,4.
Planning Aid workshop: Allinton Village hall 28t" January.
6.5. BCCF: To ask about joining Scottish Voluntary organisation.
6.6. SB Local: New organisation from SBC. To repair small works, such
as minor drainage repair. Notice up in notice board.
6.7. Community Engagement offices: Information about next training
event.
6.3. WRVS: Letter passed to Tom Dean, also leaflets in shop for individuals.
6.9. NHS Borders: Consultation paper being passed around.
6.10. Local Plan- Being passed around.
6.11 CC in Borders: Being passed around.
7. ANY OTHER BUSINESS:.
7.1. Wheelie Bin: Going to be rolled out February/March
7.2. Ian Gaul: Coming to do presentation at next meeting.
7.3. Dog Fouling:Getting worse near to play park and football pitch.
7.4.Viridor: Amount of rubbish going to tip from Borders reducing due
to increased recycling.
7.5.Armistice day wreath: The Community council would like say thank
you to Mr Hanson and Mr Malcolm for their help.
