4. 18- Viridor Latest - Kate had produced a report on the
recent public meeting itemizing the current position;
1. Plant throughput reduced by 150,000 tons. 2.Household and commercial
waste to be taken. 3. SEPA have
reservations on the emissions from both plants and particulate
control. 4. Health aspects of the plant emissions are still being questioned.
5. SBC has withdrawn from the group of local authorities which would supply
the plant.
6. Plans are to be submitted for a Quarry and wind turbines in
the locality, which would add to the likely increase in road traffic in
the area.

6.1 Cllr Fullarton sent following via email;
6.1.1 – Post Office consultation continues on closures, all 3 councillors
will oppose
6.1.2 – BAVS has been awarded Queens Award for services to the community.
6.2 Cllr Raw sent some information which also gave rise to further
queries;
6.2.1 – Bankhead Cemetery drainage works to
commence 14th July
6.2.2 – Cove road; SBC are aware and will
progress repairs.
6.2.3 – A1 roundabout; BEAR are currently
progressing this work from Haddington to Cockburnspath.
6.2.4- BHA – Overspill car park
for Callender place still to be resolved and the position regarding
fittings in vacated
houses.
6.2.5– Station Land; Rubbish removal
and safety fence queries still outstanding.
6.2.6 – Cove Balcony; Enforcement Officer
still progressing.
6.2.7 – Pathway to Toll View; damage
due to heavy lorry parking still outstanding.
6.3 Berwickshire Citizens Advice – Information sheet received
for the payment of working credits. Placed on notice board.
6.4 Civil Nuclear Constabulary – invite to be sent to Torness
section to make a presentation at one of our meetings.
6.5 Community Wind Power – Approach made from this company to
allocate money to the community based on their reading our minutes in the
Berwickshire News. This was noted.
6.6 Link Magazine – The chairman suggested that we should have
all the beneficiaries of the Wind Farm monies published in the next edition;
this was agreed.
6.7 Wind Farm Money Grants – The chairman said that a submission
had been made for funds but this could not be considered until the next
application date in October. The secretary suggested that as an interim
measure monies could loaned from a BCCF Bridging Account and would investigate
this possibility.
6.8 Bankhead Cemetery – A member complained that the housekeeping
there was awful and it needed tidying.
6.9 August Meeting – The secretary suggested that the next meeting
should in August, which was agreed.
