Presentation:
Borders Voluntary Community Care Forum – Neighbourhood Links
A presentation by Hazel Smith – Service Coordinator .
The project started in June this year, has funding for 2 years and is aimed at providing help for the more vulnerable single elderly and other persons to have a continuing independence and to be more socially included. Notices will be provided to advertise the facilities.

Present:

Police:
Break-ins reported which C.I.D. are investigating, also a number of road accidents on the A1. Door traders are in the area but  they should have I.D. with a phone number that should confirm their details. The question of gritting the roads was raised, especially in the village area, Cllr Raw said he would raise the matter with SBC.

         Planning Permission now granted.
         Following this decision the Coldingham CC called for an Open Meeting on 16 Dec. to determine with other interested parties the form of a Community Benefits Scheme which could be presented to the operators. The Chairman and Secretary will attend.
SBC – Application for Premises Licence.
         No comments.
SBC – Recycling Centres (TVs etc)
        Information only.

SBC – Commonwealth Games 2014 – Funding
         David Arnott to obtain further information on this and will relay on when available.
SBC – Peoples` Millions – Local Projects need your vote
          Community Council – Peoples` Millions – Reston Project.
           It was noted that Reston had been successful in their efforts and we pass on our congratulations.
SBC – Community Grants up for Grabs
           Grants up to £5000 now available, a notice to be put on the board outside the shop.
SBC – Berwickshire Customer Survey.
           Cllr Raw gave a brief overview of the of the SBCs` asset strategy for the Eyemouth and Duns existing High Schools which includes a customer survey in those areas.

Viridor – Update from Kate on the latest.
         As Viridor is having difficulty satisfying SEPA requirements and SBC and West Lothian Council have withdrawn from the consortium the viability of their proposals is faltering.
Also a mention of NHS Borders was given as significant changes are in the pipeline due to changes in the way in which Boards have their funding assessed. Consultations are to take place prior to this and we will be kept informed of developments.
REKK  - Community Youth Shelters.
        Information similar to previously received, not suitable.

Planning Matters:
Cockburnspath Garage – Application to Demolish and build new houses.
The Applications were approved by all present but it was felt that some comment should be made on the on the proposals which David Arnott volunteered to submit before the closing date of the 12 December.

1 - Nursery Closure – Awaiting SBC supplying financial data in order to assess whether money might be available to assist
                                    the Nursery.
2 - Planning Enforcement issues – these are still progressing and are currently being handled by the Legal dept.
3 - Bankhead Cemetery – anti -rabbit fencing, being progressed by SBC.
4 - Care of the Elderly – money is scarce in this area due to current budget constraints, but with increasing numbers of the
                                        elderly the quality of care is good but availability is poor.
5 – Hedges in the Church yard – He will progress.
Marnie
1 – Crofts Road & Hoprig Road – pot holes are to be patched
2 – Bank Head Cemetery – Hedge cut but Hut and Trees not yet removed.
D.Arnott
1 – The Eyemouth Memorial has now been fixed securely.
2 – The caravan will be moved to improve access.
3 – Land slips – on pathway to Pease Bay from the Cove reported to SBC.
