Section
What does this section set out to achieve? Well, it is useful to look at what we mean by community: Definitions: "Community n, pl -ties 1) all the people living in one district. 2) a group of people with shared origins or interests: e.g. the local fishing community. ....... 4) the public; society." Collins Concise English Dictionary Alternatives: locality, people, populace, population, residents, association, brotherhood, company, society, commonwealth, general public, public. The history section and environment section focus largely on issues relating to shared origins and heritage - of interest to all of the community, from those who have lived here all their lives and have ancestral ties to the area, to those who have settled in the area and who now call Co'path "home". This section of the website, looks to help all the people of the district to understand their shared interests, to help the public to engage in the key issues we face today and to preserve and where necessary foster a caring and neighbourly society, which benefits us all. This section of the site, really does belong to you all and we look to the community to drive the contents of the site. We have made a start, but why not get in touch if you have an idea of what you think it should contain, let us know if you have a project or a club/society you would like to promote, or why not submit a news item, or make an entry to the events database or suggest a topic for discussion in the forum section? It is over to you........ |
