The Community Council has been informed by Euan Robson MSP that the proposed Cockburnspath extension to the new power infrastructure for East Berwickshire should be completed by February 2003, according to Scottish Power. This obviously constitutes very good news and Euan Robson has also confirmed that this work is no longer a stand alone project (as stated at the public meeting) but part of the overall £11-£12 million project for the area, so it is now a certainty and will not be subject to savings being generated elsewhere in the main project, as was the case initially..
