Co'path Primary School sponsored in Eco-schools programme

Children from Cockburnspath Primary School's 'Trash Squad' recently visited Crystal Rig Wind Farm to see for themselves the 20 wind turbines in operation. Crystal Rig Wind Farm Ltd sponsored the Eco-Committee of the primary school by providing uniforms for the 'trash squad' as part of an ongoing commitment to those primary schools within the vicinity who are participating in the Eco-Schools initiative.

Donald Speirs, from Natural Power Consultants Ltd, the consultants who designed and constructed the site on behalf of Crystal Rig Wind Farm Ltd, said in the Berwickshire News: "Crystal Rig Wind Farm is keen to be directly involved with the Eco-Schools programme, a superb initiative that promotes environmental awareness across the board."

The Eco-schools programme allows participating schools to apply for either a bronze, silver or 'green flag' award based on their environmental achievements.

Cockburnspath Primary school set-up their eco-committee earlier this year, chaired by pupil Freya Renwick from Cove, and received their Bronze award in June. So, a big thank you to all those involved in the trash squad for their hard work and congratulations for your success!
